Job Summary



Provide assistance for theatre arts, radio, dance, and television productions.

Responsibilities



Typical Allocation of Duties

Production - 60%
Perform one or more of the following production functions: costuming, lighting, sound, set construction, stage hand duties, etc.



Supervise student workers - 15%
Supervise and oversee the work of assigned student workers. Provide training and direction.



Production support - 15%
Provide a variety of support during rehearsals and productions.



Assist with plans and designs - 10%
Assist in developing plans and designs for theatre productions.


Supervisor Expectations

  • Troubleshoot equipment problems and repair as needed or send out for repair.
  • Coordinate student issues with checkout system (e.g., fines, replacement or repair of equipment).
  • Maintain equipment checkout software system.
  • Maintain studio, trailer, and lab equipment in good working order (studio tri-casters, lights, and live studio production equipment) and ensure procedures are in place for student usage.
  • Conduct inventory as needed and consult with department head in decisions regarding outdated equipment and surplus.
  • Classroom production troubleshooting.
  • Consult with faculty and department head on equipment acquisitions and usage.
  • Construct workshops with Faculty as needed.
  • Serve as liaison to Cheqroom (or equipment management software equivalent).
  • Maintain and update software and inventory as needed.
  • Manage, hire, and supervise students running equipment cage and equipment checkout.
  • Supervise computer lab assistants in consultation with IT.

Required Qualifications



Required Experience
High School Diploma and three (3) years of related work experience.
