Job Description

The Bindery Technician is responsible for post-press production of printed materials.

Knowledge of operating/working with bindery equipment. Responsible for cutting, folding, stapling, stitching, perforating and scoring. Organization, prioritization, and technical skills for time sensitive, high-quality results. Ability to perform minor repairs and routine equipment maintenance. Must be able to operate in a team environment.

Duties:

• Set-up and operate folding, cutting and stitching equipment.
• Coordinate with department leads on production plan
• Review department schedule and production order details to determine job specifications including deadline for completion
• Inspect materials and products for defects to ensure it meets job specifications
• Make adjustments, perform maintenance, and complete minor repairs to equipment
• Complete quality assurance checks consistently throughout production to ensure superior quality of product
• Keep a clean and organized work area at all times

Qualifications:

• 3+ years’ experience preferred working in the print or mail industry operating cutters, folders, and booklet-makers.
• 2+ years previous experience working in a team environment
• Good attitude, calm demeanor and attention to detail
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Detail-oriented
• Must be able to repeatedly lift and re-stack up to 50lbs throughout shift
